I Dreamed a Dream
Back around 1972/73, family holidays were nearly always taken in Blackpool. This of course included many hours a day in the Tower Ballroom listening to the mighty ‘Wurlitzer’ theatre pipe organ played by various members of the team of organists. This was my first involvement with the organ world and one of the first LPs I purchased was Reginald Dixon ‘Blaze Away’.
It was always a dream of mine to play and own one of these fine organs. This dream came partly true some years later in 1991 when as a 30th birthday treat, a party was organised for me to play the Wurlitzer in Burton Town Hall. I have since played it again on several occasions.< BR>
The dream to actually own a Wurlitzer has not so far come true due to finance and space of course, however a few years ago it did come very close when Reg Rawlings developed TTT (Total Transformation Technology) which records audio samples of these majestic instruments and so today thanks to modern technology, I can switch on my Yamaha EL900 & Roland Fantom XR module, sit down and play these wonderful sounds which I have adored for many years.
Please enjoy just over one hour of music as “I Dreamed a Dream”.
